April 2019 General Conference Jeopardy

Sat am session:
1.  This is the first speaker in the April 2019 general conference.  (Who is Elder Ulisses Soares?)

2.  Sister Becky Craven began her talk by telling about a sign in a store that was selling this item for $15.  (What is happiness?)

3.  In Elder Brooks Hales message on answers to prayers, this is the clothing item that his missionary son gave to another missionary in answer to a prayer.   (What is an overcoat?)

4.  This was the topic of Elder Uchtdorf’s message.  (What is missionary work?)

5. This is the name of Elder W. Christopher Waddell’s brother, who came back into the gospel after 50 years.  (Who is Mike?)

6.  This is what a member of the quorum of the 12 replied to Pres. Eyring when he told him he doubted that he could be together in the world to come with his extended family members because of choices they made.  (What is “You are worrying about the wrong problem. You just live worthy of the celestial kingdom, and the family arrangements will be more wonderful than you can imagine.”)


Sat pm session:
1.  In Elder Ballard’s message, he said if we don’t  complicate things with additional meetings, expectations, or requirements and keep it simple, we will find this in the new changes that have been made in the church recently. (What is peace, joy, and happiness?)

2.  This is the number of years that Elder Matthias Held and his wife have been members of the church.  (What is 31 years?)

3.  These two brethren both spoke of this body part, relating it to faith.  (What are eyes?) Elder Matthias Held and Elder Neil L. Andersen

4.  Elder Takashi Wada spoke of doing this with the words of Christ.  (What is feasting?)

5.  This was the title of Elder David P.  Homer’s message.  (What is “Hearing His Voice”?)

6.  While encouraging us to come on time or early for sacrament services, Elder Holland granted a pass to these people.  (Who are mothers with small children?)

Priesthood session:
1.  In “Your Priesthood Playbook”, Elder Stephenson said that in the church, this is our playbook and team.  (What are our quorum and the scriptures?)

2.  These are 3 of the people that assisted Elder Carl B. Cook’s mother when his parents divorced when he was 6 six years old.  (Who are grandparents, uncles, aunts, bishops, and home teachers?) 

3.  Elder Kim B. Clark began his message by telling about this miracle that Jesus performed.  (Who is the woman with the issue of blood?)

4.  in Pres. Eyring’s message “The Power of Sustaining Faith”  here are two of the five questions that he suggests we ask ourselves to consider how well we sustain our leaders.  (What are : 1- Have I thought or spoken of human weakness in the people I have pledged to sustain? 2-Have I looked for evidence that the Lord is leading them? 3-Have I conscientiously and loyally followed their leadership? 4-Have I spoken about the evidence I can see that they are God’s servants? 5- Do I pray for them regularly by name and with feelings of love?)

5.  Pres. Dallin H. Oaks recommends we ask ourselves this question when making a decision.  (What is “Where Will it lead?”)

6.  Pres. Nelson said that nothing is more liberating, more ennobling, or more crucial to our individual progression than is a regular, daily focus on this.  (What is repentance?)


Sun am session:

1.  Elder Dale G. Renlund  likened heavenly blessings to this.  (What is a massive woodpile?)

2.  Sister Sharon Eubank referred to this scripture in her talk Christ: The Light that Shines in the darkness to remind us that Christ is rest.  (What is Matthew 11: 28?)

3.  Elder Quentin L. Cook reminded us to serve with this for God’s children. (What is great love or charity?)

4.  Elder Christofferson said that this is the purpose for which the church was restored.  (What is to prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ?)

5.  Tad R. Callister stated that the atonement of Christ overcame these 4 obstacles.  (What is Physical death, Spiritual death caused by Adam and by our sins, Our afflictions and infirmities, and Our weaknesses and imperfections?)

6.  Pres. Russell M. Nelson spoke of this family member who passed away a few months ago in his message, “Come Follow Me”.  (Who is his daughter, Wendy?)


Sun pm session:

1. When Pres. Dallin H. Oaks spoke on being cleansed by repentance, he began by quoting from this hymn. (What is Come Unto Jesus?)

2.  In the message, Exercising our Spiritual Muscles, this is the name of Elder Juan Pablo Villar’s brother that joined the church before him.  (Who is Ivan?)

3.  Elder Gerrit W. Gong referred to two names of the Savior in his talk.  (Who is the Good Shepherd and the Lamb of God?)

4.  Elder Bednar said that this is the ultimate Missionary Training Center.  (What are our homes?)

5.  Elder Kyle S. MacKay said that even while we are patiently waiting upon the Lord, there are certain blessings that come to us at this time.  (What is immediately?)

6.  Elder Ronald A Rasband spoke to us about building this. (What is a fortress of spirituality and protection?)

7.  In his closing remarks, President Nelson said that God’s objectives should be this.  (What are our objectives?)
