God Moves in a Mysterious Way...

When I sang this hymn today in church, the second verse really struck me, as if I had never sung those words before.  Such a beautiful gospel theme.  Then I looked back to the first verse and read the second part of it and when it says "plants his footsteps in the sea" it made me think of Jesus walking on the water and His great power.  I just have not internalized the lyrics of this hymn before and it is beautiful.  I love hymns so much for the spirit they bring and the gospel messages they teach.

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.

Ye fearful Saints, fresh courage take;

The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.

His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste
But sweet will be the flower.

Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan his works in vain;
God is his own interpreter,
And he will make it plain.
